Image This year marked the third year of our Sisters Getaway, only it looked a lot different. We had a couple husbands thrown into the mix and also an expanding group of ladies. Unlike the last two years, we all stayed in different homes. It had its challenges but we managed to get together every day for an outing and usually a communal dinner. Thanks to everyone who took us in and helped make this work.

Day 1: A day at Fort Edmonton. A wonderful place to wander and soak in all the history dating back to 1795...

Some more spoiling from Oma...

One of the neat things about going to a place like this, is that it's really quiet. No horns honking, just the streetcar going by. You really feel like you could be in 1905.

The staff dress up in costume, this time a school teacher. He was asking for volunteers to demonstrate how they used to punish students in 1905.

We went back in time...now we are on the 1885 Street.

We sauntered a bit too much ran out of time in the end. We never made it to the 1795-1870 era of the Fort. And we thought we would have to walk all the way back to the main entrance (a long long way!). And I should mention that the whole time, one way we motivated our kids to walk was to mention the train ride that we'd be having at the end. (They are really into Thomas the Engine right now...) Well, to avoid a long story, we got a lift on this horse-drawn wagon and caught our train with only minutes to spare.
