  Merry Christmas

Image

We had a great December, we hope you all did too. We had fun opening up all the Advent socks, leading up to Christmas. Felix still looks for 'balls' of chocolate in his own socks every morning. It's going to be a rough adjustment Monday when Patrick goes back to the library. We've enjoyed being all together these past 2 weeks. I could handle another week of this but there is work to be done. Please keep us in your prayers. We're still not sure where we'll be next fall...

Making Gingerbread houses with the Lockert family.

Brigitte was the last one at the table, paying close attention to all the details.

A typical day of play...and sampling my cappuccino.

Fun in the front yard...

I guess this is called a quinzee, or so I'm told from my husband.

We had to make another batch of Pfefferkuchen just before Chrismtas, since we ran out.

Our first toboggan!

The front page of the paper on December 24th...accompanied by a lovely cappuccino.

We thought of family as we read the morning paper. I circled the cities where our families live (sorry Tante Natte, Hilda is not on the map!) and Brigitte filled in the rest. Gosh, are we ever spread out.

Yes, we ate cookies for breakfast. It's Christmas!

More?

And finally we got to light the final candle in the Advent wreath.

It was late but we enjoyed a lovely dinner after mass and then we each opened one gift.

...and,

...a happy boy!

Felix went to bed with his new little train engine!

And we actually slept in until just before 8am, when we heard Matt and Sarah ringing the door bell.

A very thoughtful gift from Nonna: pictures of Dad and son, wearing the same shirt!

A very Canadian gift!

Do cows swim?

This moment was followed by some wild jumping!

And Christmas Day Dinner was shared with the Lockerts and all the fixings!
