Happy Advent Everyone! It's raining and 6ºC today. Hardly (Canadian) December weather, if you ask me. But we are still wearing winter jackets and winter boots! Ha, ha! We've gotten (goose-down) soft. So in keeping with my soft theme, here are some recent pics of our sweet kids cuddling in bed. Almost every night at bedtime, Felix crawls into Brigitte's bed and tucks himself in. Brigitte doesn't mind, for the first bit. They are both intense cuddlers but that quickly turns into serious wrestling. Alas, there is often a lot of crying at bedtime as we remove Felix from the more desirable bed. But at least there is something to look forward to every morning...
When I was a kid, one of the highlights during Advent was the Adventskalender. I can't remember if my siblings and I each had our own calender or if we shared one, but there was a little chocolate for each day, counting down to Christmas. Last month I made my own version of an Advent Calender - counting down to Christmas...with socks. I thought it would be a great way to recycle the socks who had lost their matching partner in the laundry these past years. (Funny thing is that I lost many of those single socks. I thought I had tons but really I could only find a few.) But after many evenings of embroidering numbers onto {new} socks, we have a funky Advent Calender for years to come. (I'm just happy the kids remember to check the socks in the morning!) Again, Happy Advent!
