Well it may not seem sane, but we decided to pack our whole family into the cab of a U-Haul truck and then drive for 5 days. We covered over 4,000km, saw a lot of gorgeous countryside, and camped along the way. But both we and our belongings made it safely to Washington, DC.
Yes, my brother David is now married to his sweetheart, Danielle Fletcher (formerly DeRoo). We drove back to Saskatoon for the wedding and it was a great chance to see Patrick's family, as well as some friends.
We flew over to Nanoose Bay (that's on Vancouver Island - the West Coast of Canada in British Columbia) for 8 days and stayed with Corinne's parents (they live there). Their beautiful house is now mostly built and is really beautiful. We spent most of the week doing nothing, which was just what we needed.
Brigitte Aurelia Fletcher was baptised into Christ on July 9th, 2006 at Holy Trinity Church in Spruce Grove (the same church we were married in).
We were glad to get back to the city of Edmonton, Alberta's capital, the place where we met and fell in love. Corinne has lots of family there and Patrick taught a theology course there this summer. Here you'll find a bunch of assorted photos from our time in Alberta this summer. |
